Gideon Shuetze of Sharp Wings Ltd. has practically lived in small airplanes for the past 37 years. Gideon has flown more than 32,000 hours, and most of this air time has been spent flying over the Cariboo Chilcotin Country of British Columbia. Charters into Alberta, North West Territories, the Yukon, Washington and Oregon, California and Nevada have also been part of Gideon's flight plans. There is no one who is more familiar with the lakes, rivers and hunting areas of the Cariboo Chilcotin that are accessible by plane.

Fly over the glacial world of the Coast mountains, where you will find snow giants to the height of 5000 meters, covered by whitish-blue tongues of sparkling ice. This is the home of the mountain goat and the eagle. This is where you can see glacial lakes, and silvery shimmering rivers. Gideon has a wealth of knowledge regarding this exciting part of the world. Not only does he know the area well, he knows about the history and the people that make up the Cariboo Chilcotin. He can tell you the most interesting stories and keep you entertained for a long time. Gideon is indeed a colorful individual, having amongst others things, been a teacher and a Provincial Magistrate. Sharp Wings Ltd. started its corporate life 34 years ago when Gideon joined with his brother Dan and Daryl Smith (who now owns Pacific Coastal airlines) to form the company. Now the business is a family affair with Gideon and his two sons, Mark and Grant looking after daily affairs and flight schedules. Sharp Wings is a general Charter operation with flights to and from Bella Coola daily. You can Charter for fishing, camping, sightseeing, photography, or just about any reason you would need a plane. Floats, wheels and skis will get you almost anywhere you want to in this magnificent country. It does not matter what time of the year Sharp Wings will get you there.

The workhorse for this business is Gideon's baby . . . the Beaver DHC2. This plane is not young but it is very healthy. This plane is particularly well suited for use in the bush . . . for takeoffs and landings over short distances while heavily loaded. Sharp Wings also have a trio of Cessna's to augment the Beaver. Cessna 172, Cessna 182, Cessna TU 206.

The company also offers flight training and they are an Aircraft Maintenance Facility.
